UPDATE (August 2010): a problem. You're going to beat on something until it collapses in exhaustion. Then you're going to have to beat on it some more to actually kill it. While it's laying on the ground, it's recovering Fatigue. So unless you finish it off quickly, it's going to get back up and try to beat on you some more. NPCs are even more problematic. Not necessarily from a mechanics standpoint, but just because I've got issues with beating on something that is essentially laying on the ground, wimpering. On the other hand, there's no problem with beating them to the ground, letting them get back up, and then sticking a sword in them. Hmmm. I think I need professional help.
